What does a registered agent do in Florida?
A Florida registered agent is the person or company designated to accept service of process and official state correspondence on a business's behalf, at a street address in Florida that is staffed during business hours. Every Florida corporation and LLC is required to have one.
Why does the address matter?
Because service of process has to reach somebody. A home address goes on the public record and has to be attended during business hours; an unstaffed mail drop cannot accept service at all. 800 Seagate Drive is a real building with a front desk staffed Monday to Friday.
